Ask Jesus to remove any worry
By Jason Hartwig
Who remembers this popular 80’s song by Bobby McFerrin? It’s such a catchy a capella song which always puts a smile in my face.
But these lyrics are easier sung than actually putting into practice… right? After all we have things we “need” to worry about. We all have things we are dealing with: jobs, relationships, bills, children, car repairs, illness, our home, our clothes, etc.
I recently watched a YouTube video by John Maxwell, who is an speaker and author of 70 books focusing on leadership. Maxwell revealed the number one key to success in life. “How we think: I believe that’s the key to success, because thinking comes before action. We can’t do things that lead to success until we think in a successful way.”
He used the analogy of our attitude being a paintbrush and our life is the canvas. It’s our choice as to what paintbrush we use to paint our own picture.
All of us have the freedom to choose how we will deal with things in our life. Like Maxwell and McFerrin, scripture encourages to have the right attitude!
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
– Philippians 4:6-7
Let us be courageous and confident by humbling ourselves and asking our Lord Jesus Christ, to remove any worry in our lives. We can be assured that when we do, we will truly be happy!
